First Reformed Church, a growing 1100 member congregation located in the quaint village of Oostburg, WI, is seeking a full-time DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS. Located just 50 miles North of Milwaukee and 10 miles South of Sheboygan on the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, First Reformed Church (FRC) is committed to teachings of the Bible, Jesus Christ and the spiritual disciplines of: study in God's Word, prayer, worship, service and witness.The DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS is a newly created full-time position. This position will lead the growing worship arts ministries, including music, drama, technology & other visual arts and drive synergies between the programs so to increase the focus and impact of these ministries. Over all else, this position will be responsible to drive more impact to our worship in ways that glorify God, touch the hearts of a broad spectrum of people and manage an ever-growing number of people in this vital ministry.
The candidate of choice will engage in a wide array of activities including worship service planning, assuming directorship for the Sr. Choir, plan and assist with youth music programs, bell choirs, praise band, partnering to fashion contemporary worship services, initiating and organizing special worship events, overseeing the coordination of an annual calendar of music for worship and other similar music oversight.
The preferred candidate will have -
-High energy & drive with an ability to inspire others,
-Exceptional relationship skills such as good communication, accomodation, flexibility, and ability to influence change in a healthy manner,
-Preferably a music degree, related musical training or significant musical experience in lieu of formal degree and proven experience leading worship for a congregation in excess of 1100 members,
-Hands-on experience in choral directing (adults and youth),
-Vocal and/or instrumental giftedness (preferably on keyboards),
-Ability to incorporate music creativity into the life of the church for a diversity of music styles,
-Experience working with drama and/or visual arts preferred, and
-Spiritual gifts of musical expression, administration and leadership.
The DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS will report directly to the Sr. Pastor and will partner closely with the entire Pastoral staff as well as volunteer leaders within the various worship arts programs.
