Pastor Trinity Community Church Olympia, WA Category: Senior Pastor Posted on: January 12, 2010
Job Description:
Pastor:
I am seeking three pastors that will join me in starting a church in Olympia, Washington (chosen because it has few evangelical churches, a low cost of living, good schools, etc.). You would be joining me in starting this church, and I am seeking to begin the project in the summer of 2010; although your participation would not necessarily have to begin at that time. I am an ordained pastor finishing my postgraduate degree in applied theology from the University of Oxford. If you are interested in this possibility, here is a brief description of the philosophy that seeks to operate as a plurality of pastors with the primary goal of equipping the saints for the work of ministry.
Job Description:
Trinity Community Church (sample name) will be a non-denominational church where the leadership aspires to consist of four Core Pastors. As opposed to more traditional models of leadership combining associate pastors under a senior/lead pastor, TCC plans to operate in a team-based, collaborative leadership system in which four Core Pastors equally share authority and guidance. Practically, this means that together we all discern church vision and direction, shepherd our community, program services and serve on the Board of Elders. Beyond these shared roles, each Core Pastor leads and implements within their respective areas of oversight (Teaching, Worship, Ministry, Community).
Potential Candidates:
I am looking for pastors who live, lead, interact and teach out of their own personal transformation. We will work closely together in shared leadership, so we will need to fit into a work culture that puts a premium on enjoying each other, challenging each other and deferring to each other. I am seeking pastors who can engage our community through healthy interpersonal communication, gracious and truthful community care, diplomatic conflict resolution skills and personal modeling of a growing relationship with Christ.
I will be utterly committed to maintaining your confidentiality throughout this process. If you have any thoughts or questions, please email me at dan.naulty@theology.ox.ac.uk
